In 2022/2023, we built a new health center in the community of Takinta, which was officially inaugurated and handed over to the community in March 2024. This was the largest and most extensive construction project that Future Hope People has carried out to date.
As with all projects, our association finances the building materials, while the work on site is carried out by the village community itself in cooperation with Future Hope People. In the time before completion, there was only a very small emergency outpatient clinic in Takinta where the most basic health needs could be treated. In emergencies, such as childbirth, patients were transferred to a hospital ten kilometers away, where more equipment and staff are available. This journey is very risky due to the lack of transportation, especially at night, and is now a thing of the past
The new building has a maternity ward, a waiting area, treatment rooms and six different toilets with bathrooms.
