Our current construction project is the renovation of the Kyiase M/A Basic School.
The secondary school in the immediate vicinity of our location in Kissi (Central Region of Ghana). The structural condition of the school has deteriorated so much in the last two years that we were asked by both the school management and the community to help with an urgently needed renovation.
The main problem is the leaking and dilapidated roof construction, which makes teaching impossible, especially during the rainy season. Classes currently have to move to the nearby church for lessons. After an inspection in March 2024, we decided not only to replace the roof, but also to tackle the damage to the building fabric by renovating the entire school block.
The renovation of Kyiase M/A Basic School is a priority for us as a construction project in order to enable a regular school day there again in the future.
Schedule
The construction project will be carried out in two phases.
Phase 1: July - October 2024 / Demolition of roof truss + renovation of brickwork
Phase 2: January - March 2025, construction of new roof structure

In March 2025, we were able to complete the renovation, and the school was officially handed over to the Kyiase community. Many thanks to everyone involved with hard work and especially the donors and schools from Germany who made this project possible.
